Dan Baldwin - Disillusion
Dan's work includes so many elements - collage, screenprint, painting & ceramics - all with striking juxtapositions of images. Delicate ceramics with guns and skulls; dogs and kids alonside body parts and razor blades. It's a really nice blend of vibrant, colorful work with an overtone of mortality.
The London Police 'Brothers in Arms' opened this evening at the Carmichael Gallery in West Hollywood (see the preview + preparations here). You can see how good the art is from these images; what you won't see is the energy Chaz & Bob brought to the night - not least through their hilarious mini movie, which hopefully will be online soon. They exude a lust for life that is reflected in the LADS.
The London Police open a show at the Carmichael Gallery this Thursday night, and it's looking like a great one. Chaz's LADS are as charming as ever, and Bob's detailed backdrops of Hollywood movie scenes and landscapes are stunning.
In addition to the artwork, TLP have created a couple of videos for the show - one documenting their recent days in handcuffs. You can get a sense for how that will turn out from this preview:
