This piece was done to commemorate the 'Carnation Revolution' in Portugal, the April 25 1974 peaceful coup that led to democracy in Portugal and independence for Portugal's African colonies.
The coup was carried out without arms; the revolutionaries marched through Lisbon carrying red carnations.

The day now symbolizes freedom in Portugal.
Ironically, this piece got Adres in trouble with the police.
